The largest National Park in the world is Tsavo. Invoking visions of the construction of the "Lunatic Express", the first railway built by the British at the beginning of the century through the rugged terrain of this area, Tsavo is essentially Kenya in one park. Tsavo's vastness and diversity of its landscape can mist the eyes of even the most experienced Africa hands.
In Tsavo one is spoilt for choice: the lush Chyulu Hills, the majestic Lugard Falls, the mysterious Roaring Rocks, and the clear waters of Mzima Springs are just a few of the attractions which make Tsavo a geologist's paradise. Animal and birdlife are found in abundance. Even rarities such as the fringe eared oryx, the lesser kudu and klipspringer are easily seen in habitats ranging from cactus covered rock outcrops and riverine forests to the big baobab country and acacia-covered savannah.
Tsavo must be savored. It takes time to be appreciated. It holds many hidden treasures from the animal kingdom, and what is more, it is also a birdwatcher's haven.
Your private luxury camp in Tsavo is located amongst the doum palms on the edge of the Galana River, where lion, elephant and waterbuck come to quench their thirst. Particularly during the dry season, animals are in abundance near the river - a spectacle not to be missed.
